Le 13 avril marque le Nouvel An thai. Cette fêté,essentiellement religieuse , au cours de laquelle. On asperge d'eau les Bouddhas, s'est transformée,surtout à Chiang Mai,en une partie de plaisir où l'on s'amuse à s'asperger l'un l'autre.
